Moroccan Cactus Silk Feather Filled Cushion - Golden

Sold out

Next to linen, Cactus Silk Cushions are the most on trend cushions in homewares at the moment. In most magazines and used to style many homes by stylists, these works of art are one off pieces and will be in your family for years to come.

The process for making cactus silk has been the same for centuries and is an eco friendly material does not have any carbon footprint!

Cactus silk, otherwise known as Sabra Silk is loomed by hand, from fibres found in the Agave Cacti or Saharan Aloe Vera, which is a plant that can be found in the Sahara Desert.

The cacti's leaves are crushed and soaked until the fibres of the plant disperse. The fibres are then spun by hand in an old fashioned manner. Interestingly the fibres can be accessed just like finding the fibres from flax to make linen.
