Bedding House - Van Gogh Fleurir Towel Collection - Blue
Bedding House is proud to be the official partner of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. This unique collaboration between one of the most visited museums in the world, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and Bedding House has resulted in a very special collection of bedroom textiles.
Inspired by Vincent van Gogh's paintings, the design team at Bedding House created seven luxury duvet covers and classic decorative cushions. The designs are based on Van Gogh's famous paintings, each telling a story of dreams, passion, and beauty. Naturally, the colour palette fits in perfectly with upcoming fashion and interior design trends.
As a gift to his brother Theo, Vincent painted one of his favourite subjects: large, flowering branches set against a blue sky. He painted it to celebrate the birth of his godson, who was also named after him, Vincent Willem. He had in mind that the work could be hung over the bed of Theo and his wife.
As a symbol of young life, Vincent chose the branches of the almond tree, one of the earliest flowering trees – as early as February – that announce spring. The subject, the sharp outlines, and the placement of the tree in the picture plane is evidence of the inspiration Van Gogh found in Japanese woodblock prints.
